C gridview rowupdating not firing
the View state is disabled because I need the the Grid View to be displayed even when there is no data.
I bind the data on each postback which I think might be part of the problem. One thing I did notice is that is that when the update button is clicked not even the Row Command event is fired, which I thought was strange.
It is very important for updating and deleting in the Grid View so try to assign Data Key Names correctly in your gridview declaration . When the row is in edit mode i display a checkbox and textbox.
Page be sure that you have this in your Grid View Declaration: onrowupdated="Grid View1_Row Updated" Also, if you are trying to write codes for updating Grid View data, then i guess you need to use Row Updating event instead of Row Updated. All samples of course assume you’re doing everything in your page, but I have to do everything in my code-behind, because on forehand I don’t know what I’ll be binding to my Grid View.I have tried to override On Row Updated in my custom control, but the breakpoint never gets hit.Matt Yes they are all wired up which is why it's peculiar.Besides it's 2.0 framework so just having a Row Command hooked up properly should have that event triggered every time something happens on that control.
